Message from Spanna Mo / Andy Mowbray. Sorry to hear that about Les... Thanks for letting me know... I have many vivid memories of him, and I think he was a major reason that the Pam Dor was such a cool place... If I'm not mistaken - I think maybe Les was responsible for the record selection on the juke-box - and I can still name off much of what was on there - even now... As well as the most important tunes of the day - there were also some very hip variants that opened up my mind to new genres of music... In that category I would include "Wood Choppers Ball" - Henry Mancini.., "Maria Elena" - Los Indios Tabajaras... and "Take Five," and "Blue Rondo A La Turk" - Dave Brubeck... The latter of which are STILL in my daily work music rotation... I used to put Take Five on when I was sweeping up at the end of the night... I'm honoured that Les still remembers me... If you are able to see him again... please send thanks, [for raising my hipness level], and very warm regards. It is a shame that often it is not until later in life - that we realize what an important subtle influence they have been for us...
